It takes a village. And for SS25, that village was made up of remarkable women.
From the very beginning, this collection was never just about clothing. It was about carving out space for something that didn’t yet exist—a fieldwear brand rooted in femininity, function, and quiet strength. As a founder, I had the vision. But it took a group of fiercely talented, passionate women to bring it to life.
I often say this collection has been shaped by the hands and hearts of women, and I mean that quite literally. Every step—from the fabric selection and technical sketches to the final fitting—has been touched by someone who understands what it means to build something beautiful from the ground up, often while juggling motherhood, business, and the sheer unpredictability of life.
Kristina, my technical designer, came into this project almost serendipitously. She lives just over the border from us in New York, not far from our place in Vermont. There’s a certain type of person who chooses the northern countryside: someone who understands grit, but also the beauty in slowness. Kristina gets it. She brings a creative eye to every detail, always balancing design with real-life function. It was her idea to reverse the welt pockets on our linen vest so they could more easily hold a sporting clays station card—a small change that made a big difference.
Then there’s Megan and Missy, our fittings, adjustments, and production coordinators. They actually reached out to me after seeing glimpses of the project. That, to me, says everything. When women seek you out because they feel aligned with what you're creating, it tells you you’re onto something meaningful. From our very first call, I felt that spark. It wasn’t just about capability—though they have that in spades—it was about energy, humour, shared values. They’ve supported me through every pivot and decision, often finishing my sentences or anticipating exactly what I need.
Behind the scenes are Vina, our pattern maker, and Lupe, our sample seamstress—two women whose work I’ve come to trust implicitly, even though I’ve never met Lupe personally. That’s the thing about this industry: when you see the care someone puts into their craft, when you hold a sample and feel that everything has been done with intention, you just know.
And then there’s Chloe and Ceri of The Brand Muse, the duo who have been with me from the beginning. Long before SS25 was a collection, it was a dream. They helped shape that dream, gave it a voice, and continue to refine how we share it with the world. Working with them is like sitting around a table with your most creative friends—the ones who understand your big ideas and gently (but firmly) help you make them real.
This team has laughed with me, problem-solved late into the evening, and grounded me through more than one "what am I doing?" moment. Their support has gone far beyond logistics or skillsets. It has been emotional, intuitive, and deeply collaborative.
And yes, it feels important—essential, even—that this is an all-women team. Not because I set out to tick that box, but because these are simply the people who understood the vision best. Men, as much as I love them, would never have created this. If they could have, they would have. But they haven’t. The lack of truly feminine fieldwear is proof of that. This line is not a reaction to what’s missing; it’s a reclamation of space. It is, in the most profound way, feminine.
